Author: Char Bungaroo (with a little twin help)
Player of the match: Kirsty Hall

We were all crapping ourselves despite our recent success over our tough opponents. Playing against 10 seemed to ease our anxiety until the game commenced. We started with the same line-up that beat Celtic 9-2 away from home and word from the manager was lets get double figures this time!

Celtic started the match quite strong, much the same as last week. We had a chance early on, with Char shooting just wide from Nav’s cross into the box. Char had another chance from Livvy’s cross in, but couldn’t keep the ball down and it went sailing over the bar.

Our early pressure paid off from a beautiful team play that started from the back, involved a great ball to Livvy who passed it to Char who then controlled it with her 34DD’s and volleyed a cross in for Nav to cleanly strike it into the back of the net.

Celtic came back strong, "Inspector Gadget" with her fantastic double save made sure that we kept our lead, Preeti clearing the rebound to make sure there was no chance of a Celtic goal.

Our second goal came from a (I think...) fantastic cross from Kim, who has adapted to her new role at right wing smoothly. Char then finally placed the ball in the back of the net with Larry Jnr - she seems to find easier to get the hard shots on target...

We kept strong against a strong Celtic side and didn’t concede before the break. Petra slipped in well into the central defence roll in the last minute. We also found it difficult to break the Celtic defence down to up our goal tally, even though we had much possession.

And so we went into the half time break 2 nil up.

The second half started with both teams coming out as equally strong. Celtic were particularly strong with their corners, but we handled them well, getting to the ball before them. Simone did a great job pushing forward, and even got a cross or two in.

The next goal came from a throw-in from Char which Livvy slotted past the Celtic keeper. Our strikers linking up well once again.

Jenny replaced Simone at he back, Kirsty switched to left back. Kirsty deciding to push forward more and getting some crosses in, which paid off. A great cross in from Kirsty for Kim to score her second goal of the season! It was a great volley - possibly the goal of the match.

Stacey and Scooby did a great job of controlling the middle of the pitch - getting some vital tackles in and getting some good passes out to the attack.

The final goal of the match came from another Kirsty cross-in, this time Livvy scoring with some trademark Livvy skill. A great goal!

It wasn’t all over there, still a few minutes to go, and still a clean sheet to defend. Celtic found themselves one on one with Svit who saved the shot with her out stretched legs. Has to be the save of the match, thank god for those extra long legs!

Final whistle of the game. The opposition putting on a tough battle, the game ended BAWFC 5, Celtic NIL.
