On what was definitely the coldest Sunday of the year so far we all gathered at the Concorde Centre ready to take on Merton (just a point behind us in the table).

Unfortunately the morning hadn't been great for Petra as after Jen called to say that the flights from Glasgow weren't going to get her to the game on time she had to find us an 11th player...thanks to the other Jenny who stepped in to help out! It was a good thing it was so cold as with only 11 players we were all going to be able to keep warm by running around!

So it was going to be a tight game then with us so well matched on paper? Well actually NO!! After waiting for Merton to fight through traffic to get to us we were able to catch them cold (we had been warming up for ages and they just had time to get changed and run onto the pitch!) and take the game to them!

As I can't remember the order that Char (4 goals) and Livvy(3) ..... (I think?!?).....scored our goals in I will just say that we played some really fantastic football, using the whole pitch to our advantage and with Lou and Stacey running the game from the middle and Nav and Petra creating space and using the ball well to get good service into the front two we more than deserved to run out winners 7-0. It could and should have been a load more though as we were unlucky not to score some more goals in the 2nd half..

I must also mention the defence who played another solid game to restrict Merton to just one shot all game, Sim and Jenny having good games out wide and Preeti alongside Danni (1st half) and Sarah (2nd) making sure that Sarah/Danni in goal got very bored!!

Well done everyone: another 3 points and takes us back up to 2nd in the table!
