Player of the match:

Don't think that I can beat Croydon's match report, but here goes with a few names.

Our first goal came with a pass from Louise to Nav, who did a superb cross to Char, who easily put it away. We then had a few more runs up the field by Livvy, who unfortunately just passed it wide of the goal. Mid field were passing well up front, as well as some great goal-kicks from Sarah, but the wind was just too strong and could not be caught by either Char or Livvy.

Their break came just before the second half where one of their players managed to get past the defense so she was one on one with the goalie. She just slipped it passed Sarah to take them 1-1. This had been their only chance of the half.

After half time, I think a pass from Stacey or Danni, found the feet of Livvy who took it up on her own. She was one on one with the goalie, did a pass round her and was going for the ball when the goalie tripped her up. I was impressed by Livvy who was trying desperately to continue and started crawling to her feet, at which point the ref decided it was time to call the penalty. Livvy put it away past their goalie. 2-1 to BA.

Then unfortunately it all went wrong. I will take the credit for kindly stepping over the ball instead of clearing it (Sorry Line/Preeti), allowing them to easily strike it into the top of the net.

Their next goal came from a corner, where they can take credit for cleanly volleying it into the back of the net (a move they have apparently been practising for weeks and has finally paid off).

Their final goal was from a dodgy penalty decision from the ref which even the Croydon coach admitted he felt was unfair. Despite Sarah trying to rattle their nerves, they managed to put it into the back of the net. 4-2.

Replay in two weeks time, let's show them what we can do at the back and allow midfield to play up-front for a bit!
