BAWFC Surrey League Cup Winners!
BAWFC finished the season on a high with a 2-0 cup final win over league champions Cobham.
Goal scorers Rachel Brown and Rebecca Poulton helped BAWFC keep their unbeaten run against Cobham by hitting the net in each half. The first goal came from good link up play which allowed BA top goal scorer Brown to smash the ball in. The second goal saw Liz Foster's free kick saved and players' player of the match Poulton poke in the rebound.
Manager Glenn Shimmins was forced to make an early change in a scrappy game with Preeti Johal forced off with illness. Manager and players' player of the match Nav Johal stepped in for her twin and dropped into centre back from midfield.
Goal keeper Natasha Bajwa ended the season with her 11th clean sheet and Captain Amy lead BA to their first cup final win.
Team performance was the key to this victory with Gilly Thomson, Sarah Atkin and Jayshree Badhan coming off the bench to keep a solid formation and Sophie Taylor and Emma Longman providing stability at the back.
Special mention goes out to Lucy Gibson and Mandip Grewal on their star performances in the cup final.
