We met at the grounds at 1pm, after Petra had made some of us walk up hills and across valleys and things to get there. [Ed note: And that was only after re-organising our journey to N14 several times due to planned tube closures - thanks Lauren for your input on the most suitable route] Once we arrived, Lee had to help me to the vending machine to find nourishment as I had used up all of my energy. Roger had been chauffeured to the grounds by the first-team coach, Gerry, wonder how he managed to pull that off? Clever man.

Anyways, we all got changed etc, well, no, the rest of the team got changed while I wandered around the building which was a bit of a maze, being put off by signs that said 'mens changing rooms' - that is where everyone was hiding!

After warm-ups and individual pep talks from Roger, the game kicked off with a normal 4-4-2 formation. Somehow Enfield endeavoured to score 5 goals in the first half, some of them a bit fortuitous I think, though I have forgotten how they happened since that was a traumatic experience and it has been blocked out of my mind and hopefully everyone else's too, though I am feeling the pain again writing this report. I guess we were a bit shell-shocked after the first couple went in. Anyway, what you can't remember can't hurt you…

So, moving on, Roger made tactical changes at half time, employing Nicole as a sweeper (replacing Petra who had come off injured) and replacing Loren with Nav. The introduction of new blood and change of tactics worked very well to snuff out any attacks by the Enfield 3rds, with Nicole and Lucy in particular displaying some nice skills. Possibly Enfield were also being scared off by Petra yelling from the sidelines. [Ed note: More importantly, Anna enjoyed her first appearance for the club when she came on for the injured Natasha.]

The team would no doubt have been disappointed not being able to pull one back, but would have been relieved after a much improved second half display, having conceded no further goals after the break.
